Assisted Listening (Infra-Red) Systems ADS/Signet

Infra-Red Listening Systems

Main System Features
A secure method of providing assisted listening to the hearing impaired is to install an infra-red system. The ADSworldwide products offer an easy way of setting up such a system.

This technology uses modulated, invisible infra-red light to connect the sound source and the listener. Listeners wearing hearing aids may switch them to the 'T' position and wear a neck loop with built-in receiver to hear the signal.

Alternatively listeners may wear a stethoset headset or lanyard with a built-in receiver. If using the lanyard, the listener can plug in their own preferred headset, using the jack socket on the lanyard.

  • Simple to understand and install range of products for all types of installation
  • All transmitters supplied complete with Power Supply Unit and Mounting Bracket (Brackets supplied are suitable for wall or ceiling mounting)
  • All transmitters designed for portable use
  • (IRT-45 can be placed on any flat surface (such as a table top). IRT-270 and IRT-730 can be tripod mounted using the 1/4" threaded mounting hole provided - photographic tripod not supplied)
  • Choice of 3 receivers to cater for all user requirements (Receivers can be used with transmitters not supplied by ADSworldwide)
  • All battery chargers supplied complete with Power Supply Unit

Useful aspects of this technology include

  • no complicated cable installation (no physical room loop required)
  • no interference from building construction
(signal not affected by cabling, pipework, etc. in the building)
  • transmitted information remains secure
(no signal overspill into adjacent rooms)
  • can transmit several different sound sources
(for example, simultaneous language translation at conferences)
  • can transmit to individuals where people are met in groups
(for example, for museum visitors to each receive individual commentaries)
  • can be used in noisy environments where staff have to wear ear defenders
(PA announcements can be transmitted to the wearers of ear defenders)

Please contact us regarding our complete range infra-red systems to assist the hearing impaired, including ancillary products.

Our systems are designed for use in the home, at reception and counter areas, for committee and conference venues, in churches, schools, halls, leisure centres and in other larger complexes.

The Disability Discrimination Act

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 became law on October 1st 2004. The law makes it mandatory to provide a method of effective communication with those who are hearing impaired and use a hearing aid.

What systems are available to meet your legal obligations?
  • An easy and secure method is by installing an Infra-Red Listening System.
  • An economic method is by installing an Induction Loop System.
